Parliment Election Protest by Gypsy

 

 

Tiruvannamalai, 21st April 2009,Narikuravar (Gypsy) Uraimai Padukappu Iyakkam organized demand protest in front of Tiruvanamalai Taluk Office, they demand for ST community Certificate. The same Narikurava community get ST certificate in Kerala, Karnataka and Andhrapradesh States, in demand protest the Narikuruva community cote the above States and demand Tamil Nadu Government to include Narikuruva community in Schedule Tribes Caste. Also the Narikuruva community asks to conduct census to find out the Gypsy population in Tamil Nadu. Demand for Central/State Government job to the educated Gypsy youths. Narikuruva community asks for free higher quality education and hostel facilities for their children’s. Include Narikuruva community in all the Scheduled Tribe schemes and provide basic needs to live with our rights.  
 
Gypsy community very active during the demand protest, they come with their children. Educated gypsy youths also participated in the demand protest and they issue the pamphlet to the public explaining their demands. Fr.Bosco from Center for Social Action explains the purpose of the demand protest. Mr. Rajalingam thanks the participants, police, sound arrangements, and other volunteers. The gypsy community hands over the demands to the Thasildar to consider their demands.   Mr.Ponnaiyan coordinates the demand protest.
